Our research is focused on elucidating the role of epigenetic mechanisms in the onset and progression of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. We seek to understand how gene expression profiles become altered in the brain and contribute to neurodegeneration. Our translational neuroepigenetics program combines cutting-edge, multi-omic technologies with cellular physiology, molecular neuroscience, and neuropathological assays to address mechanistic questions, identify therapeutic targets, and provide novel diagnostic tools.
